How to read the weekly schedule

An off-night is a night with 8 or fewer NHL games. With half the league idle, most fantasy lineups have empty spots, so a player whose team plays that night is far more likely to count than one who plays on a packed 13-game night.

Games per team tells you volume; usable games tell you value. A four-game week spread across quiet nights beats a four-game week where every game lands on a night your lineup is already full.

Back-to-backs matter most for goalies: the second night is usually the backup's start. For skaters they are simply two more games, as long as your lineup has room on both nights.

The schedule updates every night from the NHL, including start-time changes, and weeks run Monday to Sunday with the opening days of the season counted as week 1, the same as Yahoo.
